All specialist referral requests will need a consultation with your GP. There is no longer such thing as an indefinite referral, so your specialist referral is only valid for 12 months. Always ensure your referral is still in date when you make the appointment to see the Specialist. It is illegal for us to backdate them. Sometimes the wait times can exceed the 12 months. Its is also advisable to get a quote on their fees before you attend.
